Wenshan First Summit Forum on Joint Replacement was held in our hospital On September 26, the “Wenshan First Summit Forum on Joint Replacement”, sponsored by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of our hospital, was held in the multi-functional lecture hall on the fourth floor of our outpatient clinic. Famous experts from Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming and other provinces were invited to our hospital to give lectures and surgical demonstrations. Li Yunchong, director of Orthopaedic Department II, presided over the forum, and Lu Jing, president of the hospital, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The technical backbone of orthopedics in hospitals at the state and county (city) levels attended the forum. In the opening speech of the forum, President Lu introduced the development overview of our hospital in recent years, fully affirmed the achievements of our orthopedic department in comprehensive development, and hoped to take this opportunity to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation with sister hospitals, to jointly improve the level of orthopedic treatment technology, promote the development of orthopedic career and make contributions to the medical career. Prof. Li Zijian from Peking University Third Hospital, Prof. Ni Cheng from Shanghai Jian Gong Hospital, Prof. Ding Jing and Prof. Chen Bin from Kunming General Hospital of Chinese People’s Liberation Army, Dr. Yang Bing, Chief Physician of Qujing Second People’s Hospital, Dr. Lai Yun Chong, Chief Physician of our hospital, and other experts talked about “Anatomy and Precautions of Knee Soft Tissue”, “Successful Elements of Total Knee Replacement”, “Oxford Unicondylar Replacement”, “Revision of Hip Joint”, “Joint Management of Replacement Infection”, “Current Status of Treatment of Developmental Hip Dysplasia”, “Application of 3D Printing Technology in Artificial Knee Joint Replacement Surgery” and other topics were presented academically. At the same time, the wonderful surgery performed by experts on two patients in the operating room of our hospital was live-streamed in the venue through the internet. This live-streaming technology is the first time in our hospital, and the participants really felt the whole operation process and understood the joint replacement more deeply. Finally, Dr. Tang Zhenhong, attending physician of Orthopaedic Department 2 of our hospital, also made a special report on “the development of arthroscopic treatment technology in our hospital” regarding the minimally invasive joint technology that our hospital has been pioneering in the state in recent years, so that everyone can further understand the advantages of arthroscopy in the process of joint disease treatment. The forum mainly focused on the surgical experience and skills of artificial joint replacement, and conducted extensive and in-depth discussions and exchanges, passing on new ideas, new technologies and new advances, and in-depth discussions on hot spots and difficult problems encountered in clinical work, which were of a high academic level and benefited the participants greatly, and greatly improved their understanding of the most cutting-edge treatment of artificial joint replacement. The success of this forum marked a new level of artificial joint replacement technology in our orthopedic department.
