Why do you have wisdom teeth?

The presence of wisdom teeth is a normal physiological phenomenon. Wisdom tooth obstruction is mostly due to the lack of sufficient space in the jawbone to accommodate all the teeth, as follows. Under normal circumstances, humans have 32 permanent teeth, including 4 wisdom teeth, also known as the third permanent molar. Wisdom teeth may erupt normally or may be blocked, and some people have congenital absence of wisdom teeth. Most wisdom teeth are blocked because the jawbone degeneration during the evolutionary process of human beings does not coincide with the degeneration of tooth volume, resulting in the bone volume of the jawbone being relatively less than the tooth volume, i.e., the length of the dental arch is shorter than the sum of the proximal and distal median diameters of all the teeth. If there are wisdom teeth obstruction, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to receive early formal treatment.
