Difference between pharyngeal and esophageal cancer symptoms

Pharyngeal cancer includes pharyngeal tumors and laryngeal tumors, usually referred to as laryngeal tumors, i.e. laryngeal cancer. Due to the proximity of lesion sites, laryngeal cancer and esophageal cancer have partly similar manifestations and also have their own characteristic manifestations. 1. Laryngeal cancer: its typical manifestations include hoarseness, cough, pain, throat discomfort, foreign body sensation, bloody sputum or hemoptysis, choking and coughing when the tumor compresses the nerves or invades the related muscles, and the progression of the tumor can obstruct the airway and cause respiratory difficulties, and the tumor can be seen as a lump in the neck when it grows outward. 2. Esophageal cancer: Its clinical manifestations mainly include dysphagia, early symptoms are not obvious, occasional discomfort when swallowing hard and coarse food, burning, pin prick or pulling and friction pain at the back of the sternum, which may be mild or severe at times. In the middle and late stages, it is characterized by progressively worsening dysphagia, firstly it is difficult to swallow solid food, and finally liquid can not be swallowed, and the patient often loses weight and becomes dehydrated. It is important to note that if discomfort occurs, it is difficult to accurately diagnose based on clinical manifestations alone, and it is necessary to consult a doctor in a timely manner for early diagnosis and early treatment.
