The difference between neonatal acne and infantile acne is mainly the age group at which it occurs, and there is no significant difference in clinical manifestations. Neonatal acne occurs mainly in the neonatal period, i.e. from birth to 28 days. Infantile acne occurs in children up to 1 year of age. Both can be characterized by the appearance of red papules, pustular papules, and visible pimples on the skin, mostly on the face, but also on the scalp, neck, and chest and back. Neonatal acne is an inflammatory response caused by hormones carried in the mother’s body at birth that irritate the face. Infant acne can be can be a continuation of neonatal acne or can be caused by diet, infection, and other diets. Whether it is neonatal acne or infantile acne, it should be treated appropriately under medical supervision.
