The parts of moxibustion for facial palsy need to be selected according to the patient’s condition and cannot be generalized. In general, priority is given to facial acupuncture points, such as cheek car point, Yingxiang point, sun point and Yangbai point. At the same time, other acupuncture points, such as Yin Tang point, Si Bai point, Di Cang point, San Yin Jiao, Foot San Li, and He Gu point, can be used to alleviate the symptoms of facial palsy to a certain extent. When treating with moxibustion, Xuanfu moxibustion or bird pecking moxibustion can be used. Avoid burning during use to avoid facial burns that leave scars and affect aesthetics, and moxibustion for one minute at each point. During the treatment period, pay attention to facial warmth, avoid cold and wind, and wear a mask to protect your face when you go out. During the acute attack of facial palsy, you can use a wet hot towel of 50℃-60℃ to apply to the affected face and massage it in the morning and evening, quit smoking and alcohol, and avoid eating oily, spicy and other stimulating foods. In addition to moxibustion, nerve graft surgery and expression training can be used to treat facial palsy. These two methods are more suitable for patients in the early stage of facial palsy, but are not effective for patients in the late stage of facial palsy. Therefore, once facial palsy is detected, timely treatment is needed to avoid gradual aggravation of the condition, which may affect the treatment effect and cause serious sequelae such as facial distortion and salivation.
