How to get vaccinated against hepatitis B

Hepatitis B vaccination is administered by intramuscular injection of hepatitis B vaccine in the deltoid area of the upper arm. The hepatitis B vaccine is available in 10ug, 20ug and 60ug sizes. For the 10ug and 20ug vaccines, the basic three-dose process is 0-1-6, which means that the majority of people can obtain surface antibodies to hepatitis B and gain immunity with one dose each at month 0, month 1 and month 6, and the 60ug vaccine can also gain immunity to the hepatitis B virus with only one dose. The process of giving only one dose of 60ug of hepatitis B vaccine is widely used clinically for people who have not developed surface antibodies to hepatitis B after three doses of hepatitis B vaccine. Because these people are not too sensitive to the hepatitis B vaccine, this method of 60ug is used to allow the immune system to produce the appropriate antibodies.
