Difference between bladder cyst and bladder cancer

The difference between bladder cyst and bladder cancer: First, in terms of the nature of the lesion, bladder cyst is a benign lesion, which can be clinically observed if it is small, and can be treated surgically if it is large or if it affects urination, and can be completely cured after surgery. Bladder cancer is a malignant lesion that can progress for life and even cause distant metastasis, which can eventually lead to a threat to the patient’s life and health if left untreated. Secondly, bladder cysts, with smooth surface and small volume, do not cause any symptoms. When the volume is larger, it may affect urination, bleeding in the early stage of bladder cancer, and later on, there may be invasion of bladder muscle layer or bladder surrounding tissues, which may cause local pain and serious bleeding and eventually lead to hemorrhagic shock or severe anemia. Thirdly, in terms of treatment, small bladder cysts can be observed and waited for, while larger ones can be considered for surgery. Once bladder cancer is detected and diagnosed, as long as there is a chance of surgery, it is recommended to operate as soon as possible, and after surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy is also needed.
