What to do after a dialysis central venous line infection

After dialysis central venous catheter infection, it is necessary to target anti-infection treatment according to the location and situation of infection, such as outlet infection, tunnel infection, with bacteremia, silicone tube infection, and so on. 1. Outlet infection: antimicrobial treatment for 1~2 weeks, and extubation if the infection persists. 2. Tunnel infection: extubation, antimicrobial treatment for 1~2 weeks, and incision and drainage of the infected area if necessary. 3. With bacteremia: extubation, antimicrobial treatment for 2~3 weeks, if the efficacy is poor, septic thrombophlebitis or metastatic infection should be considered. 4. Silicone tube infection: long-term antimicrobial treatment for 3~4 weeks; to pull out the tube, unless the clinical symptoms of rapid improvement can be temporarily unplugged (i.e., fever and leukocyte elevation can be controlled within 12~24 hours). If the patient dialysis central venous catheter infection, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time, under the guidance of the doctor standardized treatment.
