Late onset hypogonadism in
males (LOH) is a syndrome caused by a decrease in serum androgen levels with aging. Clinical manifestations include symptoms of abnormal multi-organ or systemic function and a significant decrease in quality of life. Testosterone supplementation has shown good efficacy. In the 1840s, it was found that men after the age of 50 had symptoms such as easy fatigue, memory loss, poor concentration, irritability, depression, hot flashes, bouts of sweating and reduced sexual function, which were named menopausal syndrome. The term LOH is now gradually preferred. In addition to being closely related to sexual differentiation, growth and development of reproductive organs, testosterone has important physiological effects on organs and systems such as bone, muscle, fat, emotional and cognitive function, sexual function, blood and cardiovascular, etc. Deficiency will lead to malfunction of these organs and systems and a series of pathophysiological changes.
