Benefit from a smart orthodontic treatment

Once the patient receives orthodontic treatment, during the one or two years of wearing braces, a long-term connection is established with the attending physician, how to listen to the orthodontist’s medical advice, in accordance with the physician’s orders carefully executed, different families and different patients in the degree of benefit from treatment is really not small. After all, patients and their families are amateurs and it is normal to have some ideas and requirements of their own, but orthodontics is a highly professional technical work, if the patients are obsessed with their own goals and ignore the doctor’s objective evaluation of the overall situation of the patient and treatment recommendations, often in the treatment is prone to unpleasant surprises, resulting in discounted efficacy or prolonged course of treatment. The wise parent or patient will listen to the advice of the professional physician and will choose a more reasonable and realistic treatment plan with the advice of the physician after a full exchange of opinions between both parties. After the specific treatment starts, the wise patient never disobeys the doctor’s instructions, such as regular follow-up (once a month), carefully brushing teeth (at least 5 times tomorrow, morning and evening and after 3 meals), not biting too hard food (including chicken legs, ribs, fava beans, sugar cane, etc.), and eating carefully, including fruit are peeled and eaten, so that at each follow-up, the doctor sees a clean mouth and the effect manifested after the last strengthening, and will naturally more confident to proceed to the next step of treatment. If the patient is a repeat offender, the mouth is simply unpleasant, a lot of food debris and plaque attached to the teeth and aligner surface, aligner parts off a lot, the gums are obviously red and swollen, not only delay the next step in treatment, but also let the physician have a sense of frustration, such patients are tired of doing it, perhaps inadvertently see the treatment plan or the effectiveness of the treatment is discounted. Here, the author cautions all patients a truth in orthodontics: never try to eat hard objects, otherwise once the brackets fall off and re-glued, they will fall into a vicious circle of the more sticky and easier to fall off, and the big loser must be the affected party. After reading the above advice, I believe that the majority of new patients will have the right choice.
