It has been seven years since the rectal cancer surgery, which is considered to reach the clinical cure rate according to the five-year survival rate. Rectal cancer is a malignant tumor of intestinal tract caused by many factors, such as heredity, bad dietary habits and so on. After diagnosis, rectal cancer is mainly treated by surgical resection, which can be supplemented by radiotherapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapy, etc. After active treatment, a certain five-year survival rate can be achieved. Therefore, if a patient does not experience recurrence and has a good survival status seven years after rectal cancer surgery, it can be understood that the clinical cure rate has been achieved. After treatment, the five-year survival rate is about 90% in early stage, 40%~70% in middle and late stage, and 10%~15% in late stage, i.e., the earlier the stage, the better the prognosis and the longer the survival time. It is recommended that patients should take active treatment and undergo regular review, which will help to improve the prognosis and prolong the survival period.
