Babies who fall on their heads have an incubation period, usually within two days, and can show symptoms if there are pathological symptoms. If the skull is injured, most babies will show symptoms within three days, and very few children will show symptoms until about a week after the head trauma. If the fall is very mild, there is usually no obvious manifestation, and their diet, sleep, and mental status are all good. Falls to the head are generally less likely to have serious damage, and most babies do not require special examination or treatment. However, just because there is no examination or treatment does not mean that it does not need attention, and parents are advised to observe their babies closely. If there is only a slight bruise, redness, swelling, pressure and pain, do not worry too much, generally within 24 hours you can apply cold compresses to reduce swelling, after 24 hours you can take hot compresses to promote swelling, but also with the pressure; if the baby continues to have headaches, repeated crying, vomiting, poor spirit, you need to go to the hospital for timely consultation, improve the relevant examination, such as cranial CT and cranial magnetic resonance, to exclude intracranial hemorrhage and skull fracture. Once it is clear that there is a skull fracture or brain hemorrhage or other adverse conditions, you need to receive timely treatment to avoid serious sequelae.
