Can you drink alcohol one week after circumcision?

Drinking alcohol is not recommended after circumcision, especially about a week after circumcision. Because circumcision surgery involves blunt separation of the foreskin from the glans mucosa, it can cause local congestion and edema of the mucosa, resulting in medically damaging changes. At the same time, after circumcision, the wound is close to complete healing in about a week. However, if alcohol is consumed during this period, it may lead to delayed healing of the scar or hyperplasia of the already healed scar. Therefore, if these problems occur, the local scar will be less resistant to tension, and therefore there will be an increased risk of scar dehiscence and infection during subsequent conjugal life. For this reason, it is not recommended that patients consume alcohol for about a week after circumcision.
