How long does it take for a child to recover from influenza A?

Influenza A is an acute infectious disease transmitted through the respiratory tract caused by the influenza A virus. Usually, pediatric influenza A can be fully recovered in 1-2 weeks. The main clinical manifestations of influenza A are acute fever, headache, malaise, generalized aches and pains, and mild respiratory symptoms such as cough and sore throat. After 1-2 weeks of regular treatment, the condition can gradually remit. During the treatment period, the child should get sufficient rest, maintain a balanced nutritional supply, eat a light diet, drink more water, ventilate regularly, and treat symptoms such as fever, headache, cough, etc. Anti-viral drugs such as oseltamivir can be given as appropriate. If combined with pneumonia, myocarditis and other conditions, the course of the disease will be prolonged. During the illness, parents should closely observe the changes in the child’s condition. If the child develops high fever, poor mental status, frequent vomiting, diarrhea, etc., he/she should go to the pediatric department in time.
