What’s the problem with low menstrual flow?

Low menstrual flow may be a normal physiological phenomenon, such as the failure to form regular menstruation during puberty or the decline of ovarian function during menopause, pathological causes such as endocrine disorders, multiple uterine operations to the end of the endometrial lining is damaged or caused by uterine adhesions, etc. The amount of menstrual flow is the total amount of blood loss in one menstruation.
The volume of menstruation is the total blood loss of one menstruation, the normal volume of menstruation is 20-60ml, more than 80ml is considered as excessive menstruation, and less than 5ml is considered as menorrhagia.
1. Physiological phenomena
(1) Puberty: The hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis of adolescent girls is not yet mature, which may cause abnormal menstruation, such as a particularly low or high menstrual flow. This is a normal physiological phenomenon and there is no need to be overly nervous.
(2) Menopause: At this time, ovarian function declines, and low menstrual flow will occur. If women feel uncomfortable, they can go to the hospital and have relevant counseling.
2. Pathological causes
(1) If women stay up late for a long time or have too much mental stress, it will easily lead to endocrine disorders. At this time, the hormone secretion of the ovaries is disorganized, and if the secretion of sex hormones is too low, it will affect the shedding of the uterine lining, which will lead to the situation of low menstrual flow.
(2) Damaged uterine lining or uterine adhesion: If repeated abortions or scraping may cause thin uterine lining, frequent uterine operations may also lead to uterine adhesion or cervical adhesion, all of these conditions may lead to low menstrual flow.
(3) Pregnancy-related diseases: In women of childbearing age, low menstrual flow needs to be alerted to pregnancy-related diseases such as preeclampsia and ectopic pregnancy.
There may also be other reasons for scanty menstruation. If infertility or other discomforts occur, it is recommended to consult a doctor promptly and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
