Is excessive urination a sign of pregnancy?

Urination is not a symptom of pregnancy, but if you usually have sex without contraception, frequent urination may be caused by pregnancy. Polyuria is not the same as frequent urination. Polyuria refers to an increase in the volume of urine, while frequent urination refers to an increase in the number of urinations. In early pregnancy, frequent urination can occur due to the enlargement of the uterus, which presses on the bladder in front. However, pregnancy cannot be diagnosed based on frequent urination. If frequent urination is accompanied by painful urination, it is often an inflammatory urinary tract infection, which is not related to pregnancy and requires timely consultation for routine urine examination and appropriate treatment. Frequent urination can occur in early pregnancy, but as pregnancy grows, the uterus gradually increases in size, and in late pregnancy, the fetal head enters the pelvis, when the pressure on the bladder will instead decrease, and the frequency of urination will disappear.
