Anti-cancer treatment methods

In recent years, with the development of medical technology, there are many new means of treating tumors, such as targeted drug therapy, minimally invasive surgery, gene therapy and gamma knife, and so on. Does the most “new” technology necessarily mean that it is the most “effective”? In fact, it is not advisable to abuse or reject new technologies. The key lies in whether it is “patient-oriented” and provides inexpensive and reasonable treatment solutions, thus returning to the original value of medical existence. Cancer is a systemic disease. Therefore, many doctors adhere to the concept of “over-treatment” in treating cancer cells, which is to “kill a thousand by mistake and never let one go”. However, sometimes, “difficult” surgeries or new technologies do little good to patients and even lead to “tumor death”. I have repeatedly emphasized that in today’s world of ‘survival with tumor’, treatment should focus more on how long and how well the patient can live. It is very difficult to cure cancer with a single treatment method. We need to adopt “cocktail” therapy, that is, to combine modern new technology with radiotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine, to develop individualized treatment plans for different patients, to maximize the efficacy and quality of life of patients, to reduce the chance of recurrence and metastasis, and to turn cancer into a chronic disease like diabetes, heart disease, etc. We can turn cancer into a common chronic disease like diabetes and heart disease, and let them “coexist” with people in the body. There is no panacea for cancer treatment. Listening to some “high-tech” or “top international medical treatment” advertised by various kinds of advertisements to cure cancer is only a wonderful fantasy, which will eventually fall into the trap of being cheated. It is often said, “It is not too late to mend the fold after a sheep is lost. But why did the sheep escape? Were we negligent and careless in the beginning? As for the life-threatening cancer, it does not allow us to “mend the fold”, so prevention is the “king”. Only by maintaining a good lifestyle can we keep our health tied to ourselves. To prevent cancer, we should start from diet, living and self-protection, and play a good “trio”: 1. maintain a healthy lifestyle and good mentality before tumor formation; 2. Through standardized diagnosis and treatment programs, cancer patients are guided in physiology, psychology, nutrition and exercise to improve their cure rate, survival rate and quality of life. In the face of the increasing proliferation of various “diet to prevent cancer”, I think it is important to refer to cancer prevention recipes to choose what to eat and what not to eat for tumor prevention and treatment, but we should not neglect nutrition matching and balanced diet, and we should pay more attention to “chew slowly” when eating. In addition, annual cancer checkups are very necessary. If there are signs of cancer in the body, we should go to the hospital to confirm the diagnosis in time so as to get scientific and systematic cancer prevention guidance. As the saying goes, “Talking about money hurts your feelings”, and the high cost of cancer treatment often makes many families poor and empty due to illness. Therefore, I believe that “learning to manage money for patients” should be a basic requirement for oncologists, so that patients can have money for continuous treatment and survive with their tumors for a long time. ”Good treatment is not necessarily expensive, just as expensive treatment is not necessarily good.” The oncology team I lead admits nearly 7,000 patients each year, and the average cost per visit is only about $10,000. This shows that cancer can be controlled with effective, inexpensive and comprehensive treatments. In addition, encouraging patients to participate in clinical research of new drugs is also an important way to manage their money wisely. Influenced by the traditional concept, many people think that it is dangerous to experiment with oneself for drug trials. However, some advanced malignant tumors do not have better treatment options, and drug trials not only provide patients with a free treatment opportunity, but also increase their chances of a possible cure or improved outcome, and the new therapy may be safer and more effective than standard therapy. Therefore, as a last resort, “drug trial” is not a bad choice.
