Is it normal to not have wisdom teeth?

It is normal to have no wisdom teeth. As human evolution, the jaw bone gradually becomes smaller, resulting in not enough space on the bone for wisdom teeth, and even at the developmental stage there is no germ for wisdom teeth congenitally, so 0-4 wisdom teeth are normal. There are individual differences in the growth of wisdom teeth, usually there are 4 wisdom teeth symmetrically above and below, some people have less than 4 or even no wisdom teeth, and very few people have more than 4. The age of wisdom teeth eruption also varies greatly, generally before 20 years old will erupt, some people 40-50 years old to grow wisdom teeth or lifelong do not grow, are normal. As modern food becomes more and more refined, wisdom teeth lose their chewing function and begin to degenerate, and some people do not grow wisdom teeth if they do not have a germ in their genetic makeup. If there is no symptom, it does not need to be treated. If there is inflammation or food embedment, or if the root of the tooth is damaged, it needs to be extracted in time. Therefore, no wisdom teeth is a normal phenomenon. If patients are unsure or want to know whether they have missing or buried wisdom teeth, they can go to the dentistry department to take curved tomography or CBCT, so that the professional doctor can evaluate the specific situation.
