Diet regulation for gout patients

Gout is also known as “hyperuricemia”. When the blood uric acid concentration is too high, uric acid is deposited in the form of sodium salts in joints, soft tissues, cartilage and kidneys, causing a foreign body inflammatory reaction, resulting in acute arthritis, gout stones, joint deformities, gouty nephropathy, uric acid urinary tract stones, etc. Many people’s gout is “eaten” out, the last meal shabu shabu lamb, the next meal eat hot pot, every meal is not away from the meat, but “good things” to eat too much can also attract the disease. The reason is that delicious food often contains high purine, and high purine eventually decomposes and metabolizes to produce high blood uric acid. Therefore, adjusting the structure of your diet is an important part of preventing gout attacks. Gout patients should eat less medium purine foods and no high purine foods. This will lower the blood uric acid level. The general diet is divided into three categories: high purine, medium purine and low purine. The purine content less than 50 mg per 100 grams of food is low purine Grains: rice, wheat, sorghum, corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, noodles, macaroni; eggs: eggs, duck eggs, skin eggs; milk: milk, cheese, ice cream; beverages: soft drinks, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cream of wheat, fruit juice, tea, honey, jelly; and various fruits, vegetables and fats, etc. 50~150 mg of purine per 100g of food is medium purine Meat: chicken, pork, beef, lamb, goose, duck, pigeon, quail, pheasant, turkey, fish, shrimp, crab; Legumes: black beans, green beans, red beans, peas, vegetable beans, dried beans, tofu, and dried bamboo shoots, golden needles, silver fungus, peanuts, cashew nuts, sesame seeds, etc. 150~1000 mg of purine per 100 grams of food is high purine Vegetables: bean sprouts, soybean sprouts, asparagus, cauliflower, nori, shiitake mushrooms, yeast Fish: mackerel, wind-tailed fish, sardines, fish eggs, small shrimp, eel, shark, cod, moray eel, silver carp, clams, dried shellfish, dried small fish, clams, oysters Meat: chicken soup, broth, and liver, kidney, heart, brain, intestines and other animal offal. Gout to drink more water Gout patients should pay attention to drinking water, to drink more water every day preferably in 2000 ml to 3000 ml to ensure that the daily urine volume of not less than 2000 ml, so as to facilitate the discharge of uric acid from the urine. However, there are also rules about what water to drink, the discharge of uric acid is related to the acidity of urine, uric acid is easily discharged when the urine is alkaline, while acidic urine is not conducive to the discharge of uric acid, the general gout patients can choose ordinary tap water or mineral water, and do not choose slightly acidic pure water.
