Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is preferred for gallbladder polyp surgery, but most gallbladder polyps are combined with cholecystitis, so gallbladder polyp surgery is easier to do. The gallbladder space is easily revealed during surgery, so gallbladder polyp surgery can sometimes be completed in 11 minutes. If the organs surrounding the gallbladder, especially the greater omentum, stomach, duodenum, and colon, are more heavily adherent to the gallbladder, the operation takes longer because the adhesions need to be separated. In addition, the biliary tract anatomy is often somewhat variable, so it can increase the surgery time for gallbladder polyps.
