Can a child’s hoarse voice heal itself?

Whether a child’s hoarse voice can heal on its own depends on the infant’s resistance, the cause of the disease and the severity of the condition. If the hoarseness is caused by non-infectious factors, such as fire, hot weather, low water intake, shouting, excessive crying, etc., it can usually heal itself gradually. If the hoarseness is caused by infectious factors, such as severe colds or laryngitis caused by severe influenza, it is usually caused by viral or bacterial infections and is less likely to heal on its own, and usually requires anti-inflammatory or antiviral treatment. If it is determined that the hoarseness is caused by fire, etc., the child should be allowed to talk less and rest his or her vocal cords, and drink more water, especially foods rich in soup, on a daily basis. If hoarseness is accompanied by coughing, sore throat, or acute fever, take your child to the ENT department of a hospital for prompt examination and treatment.
