Does the pathology report just say polyps are benign?

Generally speaking, if the pathology report only states polyps, they are usually benign.

The pathology report is mainly through a series of pathological examinations to clarify the nature of the lesion and make a diagnosis, and the chance of misdiagnosis is small. However, although the pathology confirms that the polyp is benign, it is recommended that it be removed to prevent the polyp from increasing in size due to prolonged irritation of the gastrointestinal tract, which may lead to malignant changes in the future. After removal, regular gastroenteroscopy is also necessary to prevent polyps from recurring in a timely manner.

In addition, at present, there is no other treatment for polyps other than surgery, therefore, do not blindly believe in all kinds of publicity and advertisement, through excessive treatment, it will induce malignant transformation of polyps and accelerate the progress of the patient’s disease.
