What are the symptoms of oral candidiasis

Oral candidiasis can be categorized into candidal stomatitis, candidal lipitis and keratitis, and chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, and the symptoms caused by different types of oral candidiasis can vary. 1. Candidal stomatitis: The manifestations of different types of candidiasis vary. Acute pseudomembrane type will lead to oral mucosa congestion and scattered white spots or plaques; acute erythema type will cause oral mucosa congestion and vesiculation, tongue dorsal papillae are lumpy and atrophic; chronic hypertrophy type will cause mucosal white plaques, or nodular hyperplasia. 2. Candidiasis lipitis and keratitis: Candidiasis lipitis is categorized into vesicular and granular types, vesicular type will lead to long-term presence of bright red vesicles on the lips, the surface of the flaking; granular type for the swelling of the lower lip, there are scattered prominent small particles. Candida keratitis can lead to cracking of the skin and mucous membrane in the corner of the mouth area, erosion, pain or bleeding when opening the mouth. 3. Chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis: this type of oral candidiasis can lead to long-term non-healing or recurrent corns and snow mouth disease, and then erythematous desquamative rashes and thickening of the nail plate will appear on the head, face and limbs. Prompt medical attention is recommended for symptoms suspected to be oral candidiasis.
