Widespread versus indolent abdominal pain is commonly associated with tuberculous peritonitis, intestinal adhesions, intestinal ascariasis, and neurologic disorders. Tuberculous peritonitis is a chronic, diffuse inflammation of the peritoneum caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It can be contracted by direct spread of intra-abdominal tuberculosis or by hematogenous dissemination. The following are the main points of examination for this disease. 1, Fever of unknown origin, lasting more than two weeks, accompanied by night sweats, and ineffective by general antibiotic treatment. 2.Persons with a history of close contact with tuberculosis or who have other extra-intestinal tuberculosis themselves. 3.Tenderness of the abdominal wall, with ascites or palpable masses. 4.Rapid increase in blood sedimentation and ascites as exudate. 5.X-ray gastrointestinal barium meal examination found intestinal adhesions and other signs.
