Betalucil is generically known as metoprolol tartrate and enalapril maleate is generically known as enalapril maleate. Metoprolol tartrate and enalapril maleate can generally be taken together, but they need to be taken under a doctor’s supervision. Metoprolol tartrate and enalapril maleate are both commonly used in the treatment of hypertension. Metoprolol tartrate is an adrenergic receptor blocker and enalapril maleate is a converting enzyme inhibitor, and these two medications can be used in combination for the treatment of hypertension. Patients who overdose on metoprolol tartrate may experience adverse reactions such as headache and dizziness, chills in the extremities, bradycardia, and abdominal pain and diarrhea. It is contraindicated in patients with cardiogenic shock, sick sinus node syndrome and hypersensitivity to the drug. Side effects such as fatigue, epigastric discomfort, nausea and palpitations may occur in patients taking enalapril maleate. It is contraindicated with caution in people who are allergic to the product, children, pregnant and lactating women. The above medications should be taken under the supervision of a doctor to avoid medication risks.
