Symptoms of severe tonsillitis

Tonsillitis can be categorized into acute tonsillitis and chronic tonsillitis. Serious symptoms can cause fever, chills and other systemic symptoms, as well as symptoms that cause complications. 1. Acute tonsillitis: common symptoms are mainly, sore throat, dyspnea, fever, chills, fatigue, nausea and vomiting; it may lead to cellulitis around the tonsils, peritonsillar abscess, acute otitis media, sinusitis, lymphadenitis and so on. In the case of cold and dampness, lowered immunity, endocrine disorders, autonomic nervous system disorders, or poor living and working environment, it is easy to form “foci”, occurring perverted reaction, resulting in a variety of complications, such as rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic fever, heart disease, nephritis and so on. 2. Chronic tonsil: patients often have sore throat, easy to catch a cold and acute tonsillitis episodes, usually less conscious symptoms, there may be dryness in the pharynx, itching, foreign body sensation, irritating cough and other minor symptoms. If the tonsil crypts are retained in the caseous decay or there is a large number of anaerobic infections, halitosis occurs. In pediatric patients with over-hypertrophy of the tonsils, dyspnea, snoring during sleep, and impaired swallowing or speech resonance may occur. Systemic reactions are caused by the crypt pus plugs being swallowed and irritating the stomach and intestines, or by the absorption of bacteria and toxins in the crypts, leading to indigestion, headache, malaise, and low-grade fever.
