1, metabolic syndrome (metabolic syndrome, MS) is known as the death quartet (central obesity, hyperglycemia, hypertriglyceridemia and hypertension), is a group of clinical syndromes with insulin resistance as its common pathophysiological basis, also known as insulin resistance syndrome. 2. The diagnostic criteria for MS established by the Chinese Medical Association Diabetes Branch are: (1) overweight and/or obese: body mass index (BMI) ≥ 25.0 (kg/m2); (2) hyperglycemia: fasting blood glucose (FPG) ≥ 6.1 mmol/L, and/or postprandial blood glucose (2hPG) ≥ 7.8 mmol/L, and/or those who have been diagnosed and treated for diabetes; (3) Hypertension: systolic/diastolic blood pressure ≥ 140/90 mmHg and/or confirmed and treated hypertension; (4) Dyslipidemia: triglycerides (TG) ≥ 1.7 mmol/L and/or high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) < 0.9 mmol/L (men) or < 1.0 mmol/L (women). MS can be diagnosed if three or all of the above four components are present.
