Be alert to the clinical manifestations of breast cancer

Breast health has become the focus of women’s attention nowadays, so which common breast problems in daily life are related to cancer? When do we women need to be highly alert? 1.Breast pain: In most cases of breast cancer, even if a lump is felt, it will not be painful. However, at this time, the growth of the lump will be especially rapid, and when touched by hand, the surface of the lump will feel uneven, without clear boundaries with the surrounding normal tissues, and the texture will be hard. If you have severe pain in the breast, especially if you feel it, it is usually a sign of inflammation in the breast, such as acute mastitis and breast abscess; and the pain associated with the menstrual cycle is usually a sign of breast hyperplasia. 2, part of the breast gland thickening: If when touching the breast, you find that a certain tissue is slightly thicker than the surrounding normal tissue, and the boundaries are unclear, the clinical diagnosis is generally “hyperplasia”. If the thickened tissue exists for a long time, not related to the changes in the menstrual cycle, or increasingly thickened and increased in scope, especially in middle-aged and elderly women who have gone through menopause, we must pay attention to it. 3, nipple overflow: If the overflow is bloody, the possibility of malignancy is higher. If it is plasma, milk-like or watery, benign lesions are more likely. The presence of a lump is also an important criterion, so that the possibility of malignancy is even greater. 4, changes in the contour of the breast: normal breasts have a complete curved contour, once any change in such a curved shape, we must be vigilant. 5. Change of breast skin: In most breast diseases, the breast skin is not changed. However, breast cancer may be accompanied by skin invagination, forming a “dimple”-like change; while acute mastitis often has skin redness and swelling, and breast tuberculosis may be combined with skin ulcers or fistulas. Change of nipple: Inverted nipple is also a common symptom of breast cancer, often unilateral invagination. If eczema and itchy skin appear repeatedly on the nipple and persist for a long time, the possibility of Paired’s disease should be considered, which is a special type of breast cancer. It is worth reminding that when the above changes occur, you should still go to the hospital and ask a specialist for examination in order to confirm the diagnosis. Moreover, since most of the breast cancers are asymptomatic, it is very necessary to have regular annual specialist check-ups regardless of your age group.
