Vaginal bleeding is one of the more common symptoms after fibroid surgery, so is this symptom normal? Does it require a visit to the hospital? This is a question that many patients have. Vaginal bleeding after surgery varies with different surgical procedures: 1. Vaginal bleeding after fibroid removal: Removal surgery can cause scarring of the uterine wall, resulting in a small amount of vaginal bleeding (no more than menstrual volume) after surgery, which is usually normal for about 10 days. If the bleeding exceeds 10 days or suddenly increases, first determine if it is within your period, if not, you need to go to the hospital for examination to clarify the cause of the bleeding. 2.Vaginal bleeding after subtotal hysterectomy: generally there is no bleeding after subtotal hysterectomy, but if the incision in the upper part of the cervix is high and there is still some endometrial residue, then there may still be a small amount of vaginal bleeding during menstruation (the amount depends on the amount of endometrial residue). This is normal but needs to be confirmed with the doctor. 3. Vaginal bleeding after total hysterectomy: If there is a small amount of yellow discharge or bloody discharge within 15 days after total hysterectomy, it can be temporarily observed. If there is purulent discharge, we should suspect that there may be infection or vaginitis in the stump of vaginal incision, we should go to hospital, find out the cause and deal with it in time. If there is a large amount of vaginal bleeding in patients with secondary or total uterine incision, the incision may have been opened and should be treated immediately in an emergency hospital.
