Precautions for osteoarthrosis of the knee

Osteoarthritis of the knee, also known as “osteoarthritis”, “proliferative arthritis” or “degenerative arthritis”, is a condition of the bone and joint that is unrelated to other diseases. It is a common disease among middle-aged and elderly people and people with heavy workload. In China, the incidence of osteoarthritis has reached 3% of the total population, 38.7% in Beijing and 13% in Shanghai. As our society ages, the number of patients with osteoarthritis, especially knee arthritis, is expected to increase. There is no ideal treatment for this disease. The cause of the disease is due to the degeneration of the bones and joints of middle-aged and elderly people or those who are engaged in heavy physical labor. The imbalance of pressure on the joint surface and the excessive weight-bearing cause the articular cartilage to wear away, resulting in spasm of the tissues around the knee, increasing the pressure on the joint, exposing the bone under the worn cartilage, hardening it, causing the joint to lose stability and forming osteophytes, resulting in aseptic inflammation of the intra-articular tissues, congestion, hypertrophy, swelling, and even fluid accumulation. If the cartilage is detached, a series of clinical symptoms and signs may occur. Therefore, protection of cartilage tissue, inhibition of collagenase activity, and prevention of LDL formation to reduce the damage to cartilage tissue can effectively alleviate the progression of the disease. The knee joint is the largest joint in the body and the joint with the highest weight and activity, so it should be protected as much as possible. The following points should be noted in daily life: 1. When the knee joint is damaged, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible and use effective methods to cure it as soon as possible to reduce the stimulation of the tissues in the joint. 2. Once knee discomfort or soreness occurs due to exertion, joint movement should be reduced to prevent synovial edema and further damage to joint cartilage. 3, acute knee injury in the first two days, the application of ice bags for joint cold, chronic period usually feasible knee massage or hot compress, in order to promote blood circulation in the joint, eliminate tissue fatigue, reduce the pressure in the joint, to prevent the occurrence of the disease. 4, try to avoid long periods of strenuous and overload exercise. 5, do not go against the laws of nature, to prevent the impact of seasonal changes on the human body, to prevent cold and keep warm. 6, drugs commonly used non-steroidal drugs, such as fenbuterol, nebumetone, etc.; joint protective agents, such as glucosamine, hyaluronic acid, etc.; calcium preparations, such as calcium carbonate, calcium gluconate, etc.. Certain herbal medicines have unique therapeutic effects. 7, drugs and physical therapy non-surgical methods of treatment is not effective, can be used to knee arthroscopy, knee joint replacement and other surgical treatment.
