Bei Liu Shu Nu is a traditional Chinese medicine, the effect is to activate blood circulation to dispel blood stasis, pass menstruation and relieve pain, and so on. It can be used for bruises, traumatic bleeding and menstrual bleeding. It is bitter in taste and cold in nature. It belongs to the spleen, stomach, liver and gallbladder meridians. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation, eliminating blood stasis, promoting menstruation, relieving pain, cooling blood, stopping bleeding, clearing heat and inducing dampness (removing heat and dampness from the body). It can be used in treating bruises and injuries, traumatic bleeding, menstrual bleeding, menstrual irregularities, postpartum stasis and pain, impediment in the abdomen (the appearance of tangible or intangible lumps in the abdomen, with a feeling of distension and pain), bloody diarrhea, blood drenching (the appearance of blood in the urine with a feeling of pain), dampness-heat jaundice, oedema and abdominal distention, and excessive leucorrhea. The contraindications and adverse reactions of Bei Liu Shu Nu are not clear, it should be noted that pregnant women should not take.
