What is the survival time after a glioma grade III surgery

The survival period after grade III glioma surgery is related to the treatment mode, pathology type, and own condition, and is usually 3~7 months.

Glioma is a tumor originated from glial cells, which is the most common primary intracranial tumor, clinically known as cerebral glioma.WHO Central Nervous System Tumor Classification classifies glioma into grade I~IV, grade III is malignant glioma, and the treatment of cerebral glioma is based on surgical resection, combined with radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other comprehensive treatment methods.

Surgery can alleviate clinical symptoms and prolong the survival period, and the principle of surgical treatment is to remove the tumor safely in the largest scope. Radiotherapy can kill or inhibit tumor cells and prolong the survival of patients. Routine segmented external irradiation is the standard treatment of radiotherapy for glioma, and the survival period of grade III patients is shorter, usually 3~7 months.

Glioma patients need to pay attention to the postoperative rehabilitation treatment, regular review, and timely medical treatment for uncomfortable symptoms.
