Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor of the head and neck. The more common site of lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer is the cervical lymph node metastasis, and further surgery, such as cervical lymph node dissection, can be considered according to the patient’s condition. In addition, depending on the pathological type of thyroid cancer, further treatment can be done. For example, internal irradiation, iodine-131 therapy, can be considered for papillary thyroid cancer. Other types of thyroid cancer are not so effective, but local radiotherapy and systemic chemotherapy can be done to control the disease. Oral targeted therapy such as Sorafenib can also be applied to control the progression of the disease, for example, to control the lymph node metastases and shrink or disappear the tumor.
