Running knee pain may be caused by excessive exercise, cold knees during running and other factors, or it may be caused by meniscus injury, osteoarthritis and other pathologic factors. Rehabilitation methods include physical therapy, medication, surgery and so on.
1. Strain factors: Running for too long, and cold wind stimulation of the knee during running may lead to pain in the knee. Patients first need to reduce the amount of exercise appropriately, just after running patients can carry out the knee ice packs, usually can choose the local hot packs; also can carry out deep microwave, ultrasound and other treatments to promote trauma repair; winter running people need to pay attention to the warmth of the knee.
2. Meniscus injury: running posture may lead to meniscus injury and knee pain, the damage is relatively light patients can use a brace to fix the knee joint; the damage is more serious patients need to carry out arthroscopic meniscus repair or reconstruction.
3. Osteoarthritis: patients with osteoarthritis may also experience knee pain after running, they can take oral ibuprofen, meloxicam and other drugs to reduce inflammation; they can also choose intra-articular injection of sodium vitrate, hyaluronic acid and other drugs to increase lubrication of the joints; and they can also choose to improve the intractable pain by localized closure therapy.
If the patient’s symptoms are serious, or if the symptoms do not improve, the patient should go to the hospital in time for treatment. All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
