How to remove a giant pituitary adenoma endoscopically via a single nostril

Giant pituitary adenoma refers to all kinds of large pituitary adenomas larger than 3 cm. The traditional transnasal microscopic surgery cannot see the part of the tumor growing to the suprasellar area due to the limitation of the field of view, and therefore cannot remove the tumor. Therefore, it is often necessary to choose the more invasive craniotomy.

In recent years, the excellent illumination and field of view of high-definition endoscopy have completely overcome the shortcomings of traditional microscopy, which has rapidly replaced craniotomy and even traditional transnasal microscopy.

The following series of giant pituitary adenomas have been completely resected endoscopically through a single nostril, significantly relieving the patient’s preoperative pain, with minimal complications, and the patient can be discharged from the hospital 3-5 days after surgery.
