A burst of pain behind the root of the ear is often seen in acute suppurative otitis media, trigeminal neuralgia, temporomandibular dysfunction and other conditions, according to the cause of the symptomatic treatment. 1. Acute suppurative otitis media: when the eardrum is not ruptured, cephalosporin broad-spectrum antibiotics can be used. If the perforation of the eardrum appears to flow pus, ear pain relief, the application of cotton swabs to clean up the pus, the use of hydrogen peroxide to clean the external auditory canal, with antibiotic ear drops treatment. If the perforated eardrum does not heal for a long time, surgery is needed. 2. Trigeminal neuralgia: Carbamazepine and other drugs can be taken, if the drug treatment is not good, minimally invasive interventional therapy or surgical treatment is feasible. 3. Temporomandibular dysfunction: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin can be used to reduce inflammation and pain. If there is a clear structural abnormality, surgical treatment is needed, such as arthroscopic surgery, open surgery and so on. It is recommended that patients seek medical treatment in time to identify the cause of the disease, and treat the symptoms under the condition of clear cause of the disease.
