Surgical indications and preoperative preparation for funnel chest

  Indications for surgery: (1) Haller index greater than 3.2 on CT (2) Pulmonary function suggesting restrictive or obstructive airway pathology (3) Abnormalities such as incomplete right bundle branch block and mitral valve prolapse on ECG and echocardiography (4) Progressive deformity with significant symptoms (5) Deformity affecting the patient’s life and complicating psychological problems such as low self-esteem Surgical indication is a prerequisite for surgery.
