How many milliliters of milk do newborns drink a day

Newborns normally drink 500-800ml of milk a day, and then gradually increase the amount of milk.

The frequency, interval and amount of breastfeeding vary greatly among individuals, and should be determined according to the infant’s specific situation. In general, newborns breastfeed about 7-8 times a day and night, the day and night nursing interval is similar, about 3 hours once, the latter half of the night a little longer. Each breastfeeding about 70-100ml, the total amount of milk throughout the day ranges from 500-800ml; after 2 weeks about 6-7 times a day, 100-120ml each time.

2-3 months 6 times a day, each nursing 120-150 ml; 4-5 months 5-6 times a day, each 150-200 ml; 5-6 months from 4-5 times a day, each nursing 200-250 ml; 6 months after the addition of pureed food 1-2 times a day to feed the rice paste or porridge; 7-8 months after the daily breastfeeding can be reduced to 3-4 times, and can be trained to use a cup to drink milk.

Feeding varies from newborn to newborn. Regular medical checkups are recommended, and if there is any abnormality, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time.
