Do ovarian cysts hurt?

Many women think that having an ovarian cyst is a very scary and painful experience, but these perceptions are actually wrong. The majority of ovarian cysts do not have obvious symptoms at all, and they do not feel painful at all, but a small number of ovarian cysts can cause pain, such as chocolate cysts, immature teratomas and other tumors that can cause pain. If a woman has a physiological cyst, it will disappear on its own after menstruation and will not cause any pain. Therefore, physiological cysts and benign ovarian cysts do not change greatly and do not have painful symptoms. However, in the case of chocolate cysts, which are caused by the growth of the endometrium into the ovary, these cysts can cause severe abdominal pain during menstruation. When an ovarian cyst ruptures or twists, severe pain can also occur. If a woman experiences back pain or abdominal distension in general, it is not necessarily caused by ovarian cysts, but may also be caused by gynecological inflammation. If you find an abnormality, you need to go to the hospital for a relevant examination to clarify the cause and then treat it in time.
