Can hepatobiliary stones heal on their own?

Stones in the hepatobiliary system cannot be discharged and dissolved once they are formed, and they cannot heal themselves. In the hepatobiliary system, the neck of the gallbladder and the common bile duct are narrow, so it is difficult to discharge the hepatobiliary stones, especially the large size of gallstones, from the bile duct system; it is also difficult to crush the stones into powder form through extracorporeal lithotripsy, and the diameter is still too large to discharge, which may even cause blockage of the hepatobiliary ducts, leading to jaundice or infection.
