Nosebleeds can be treated with pressure, cold compresses and plugs.
1. Pressure: When you have a nosebleed, lower your head slightly and press both sides of your nose with your index finger and thumb to compress the local blood vessels to stop the bleeding, and pay attention to not tilting your head so that the blood does not flow into the respiratory tract, causing choking and suffocation.
2. Cold compress: you can use a cold towel or dry towel wrapped in ice to apply cold compresses to the forehead, the root of the nose and the back of the neck, to promote vasoconstriction of the nasal cavity and reduce bleeding.
3. Plugging: Use sterile cotton balls to plug the nostrils of the bleeding side to stop bleeding, reduce the local blood flow rate and achieve the effect of hemostasis.
If the nosebleed is not relieved after the above simple treatment, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and a specialist to stop the bleeding.
