There are two types of molluscum contagiosum: internal and external. Ectromelanoma begins as a limited congestion and swelling of the lid margin, with significant pain and pressure, and a gradual softening of the nodules, resulting in yellow pustules at the base of the eyelashes. Internal mydriasis is an acute inflammation of the lid gland, with pus spots visible on the surface of the congested lid conjunctiva, which can self-rupture and drain into the conjunctival sac, and if the inflammation expands and invades the entire lid tissue, an eyelid abscess is formed.
