How can children grow taller?

According to incomplete statistics, there are nearly 30 million people with dwarfism in China due to various reasons, and the number is increasing at a rate of 161,000 per year. And there are nearly 100 million people with dwarfism who are more than 10 cm below the average height. But unfortunately, the number of people who take their children to the hospital for treatment is minimal every year, and there are many people who believe in various height-enhancing products, which fully illustrates that the majority of people still lack the correct knowledge of height. The growth of the human body is a complex physiological process, height is determined by genetics, nutrition, endocrine and other factors. If your child is short in stature, you should consult a pediatric endocrinologist or a dwarf specialist as soon as possible and undergo the necessary tests. Under current medical conditions, most short stature can be treated with the right timing. Genetic factors determine the growth potential of children, and the full development of this potential depends on various environmental factors. In other words, people with genetic dwarfism should not lose confidence, scientific nutrition, adequate sleep, and insist on aerobic exercise (moderate intensity, regular, continuous, no less than 20 minutes each time, outdoors as much as possible), and your height will exceed the genetic height. At the same time, there may be some kind of genetic-related disease in the family of hereditary dwarfism, which may have been effectively treated with the development of modern medicine. Nutritional dwarfism (which is very rare nowadays) can grow to normal height naturally after adjusting nutrition and consuming enough calories, and there is no need to take any “height enhancement drugs”. Endocrine factors play a regulatory role in the process of growth and development. Common endocrine growth abnormalities include growth hormone deficiency and thyroid hormone deficiency. This type of dwarfism should be treated as early as possible, and growth hormone or thyroxine should be applied under the guidance of a doctor. Precocious puberty can cause excessive secretion of sex hormones in advance, causing premature epiphyseal closure, resulting in a height of less than 145~150 cm in adulthood. When secondary sexual characteristics appear in girls <8 years old and boys <9 years old, it is necessary to find a pediatric endocrinologist to do the corresponding examination as early as possible and apply gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues to inhibit the premature secretion of sex hormones if necessary to avoid early development, in order to buy time for children to grow and achieve the purpose of height increase. There is also somatic dwarfism, this kind of child has delayed skeletal maturity, family members have similar growth pattern and can reach normal height in the future without treatment. However, it is best for such children to have their bone age checked regularly, because children nowadays generally develop earlier than previous generations, and the age of stopping growth is correspondingly earlier. Many parents have the idea that "children have early growth and late growth", but this situation is limited to physical dwarfism. If a child is found to be below the height of his or her peers, if he or she is not examined and treated in a timely manner, but eventually finds out that his or her child is short only after the child stops growing, the opportunity for treatment will be lost. There are also some patients with dwarfism who, although they are already adults in terms of age, or even over 20 years old, have childish faces and immature sexual development, and their bone age is often only in their early teens, yet they still have the opportunity to increase their height through proper treatment. Since exercise and sleep can stimulate the secretion of growth hormone, it is necessary to increase exercise and ensure sufficient sleep to grow taller. As for food, dairy products and eggs are the best foods for growth because they contain all kinds of nutrients. While cola drinks, foreign fast food, etc. may have certain adverse effects. Certain drugs such as: quinolone antibacterial drugs (such as: norfloxacin), adrenal corticosteroids, sex hormones, etc. are not conducive to growth.
