There are several reasons for pain in the arm position: First, there are lesions in places other than the arm, such as a herniated disc in the cervical spine area, or a narrowing of the nerve root canal, which can produce compression and stimulation of the nerve roots in the cervical spine area, leading to nerve root edema, which is manifested as a significant pain symptom in one of the upper extremities, some manifesting as radiating pain, some manifesting as soreness and other symptoms, and there may also be numbness. Second, the arm itself becomes diseased, such as trauma to the arm during activity, or external collision, which may lead to injury to the bones, joints and surrounding muscles, ligaments and other soft tissues, skin and subcutaneous tissues, forming bruising and swelling, stimulating the peripheral nerves, which may also cause painful sensations. Third, it may be due to continuous fatigue and tension in the arm, such as doing physical work for a long time, muscle fatigue sustained to form strain, there will be foci of inflammation, which will stimulate the nerve pain. Fourth, if the arm is often in a cold state, it will also lead to a slowing of the body’s blood circulation, resulting in local cell metabolism produced by inflammation, as well as the accumulation of metabolic products such as lactic acid, the same symptoms of arm pain will occur.
