Symptoms of bronchiectasis



Typical symptoms of bronchial dilatation are repeated coughing, coughing up purulent sputum, hemoptysis, and even dyspnea, and the clinical manifestations of different patients are related to the specific conditions.

1. Coughing and coughing up pus and sputum. Chronic, recurrent, cough with pus and sputum, when the infection worsens, the amount of sputum coughed up will increase, mostly yellow-green sputum, some serious patients, the amount of sputum coughed up every day can reach hundreds of milliliters.

2. Hemoptysis. Most of the patients show blood in sputum, and the amount of hemoptysis varies with different degrees of illness; some bronchiectasis with hemoptysis as the only symptom is also called “dry bronchiectasis”.

3. Difficulty in breathing. If the patient’s bronchiectasis is more serious and the condition is prolonged for a long time, dyspnea, wheezing and other manifestations may occur, and cyanosis may also appear on the lips and nails due to the lack of oxygen in the body.
