Is a pulse rate of 76 beats per minute normal?

A pulse rate of 76 beats/min is normal, and most normal people maintain a pulse rate between 60-80 beats/min. If the heart rate is slow, it is recommended to maintain a pulse rate of 55 beats/min or more. If the heart rate is between 80-100 beats/min it is on the fast side and more than 100 beats/min is considered sinus tachycardia. A patient’s current heart rate of 76 beats/min is a relatively good state. If the patient wants to see if he/she has an arrhythmia he/she can choose to have an electrocardiogram performed. If the ECG reports a sinus rhythm, a heart rate between 60 and 80 beats/min is very normal. The pulse rate corresponds to the ventricular rate, except in special cases, such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, where the pulse may be less than the ventricular rate.
