There are several conditions of muscle atrophy after ankle fracture: 1, atrophy caused by muscle damage and tear during fracture. 2, disuse atrophy after prolonged surgery and prolonged muscle inactivity after fixation. Exercise can be divided into several aspects: first, you can actively and passively flex and stretch, elastic band stretching, and active active exercise. Secondly, you can go to a regular hospital and exercise the flexion and extension of the ankle joint and its function under the guidance of a rehabilitation physician. You can also cooperate with physiotherapy, acupuncture, hot compresses and shock waves to reduce muscle adhesions and atrophy and promote the recovery of muscle strength and joint function. If the muscle atrophy is very serious, electromyography needs to be checked to see if there is any loss of muscle or nerve function or injury that seriously affects the activity and requires surgical tendon replacement or adhesion release.
