Wearing time of braces (orthopedic shoes)

Braces (orthopedic shoes) 1. Braces are a very important and critical part of Pansetti’s treatment The foot must remain in a correct position for a period of time after being corrected to prevent relapse. The brace is not a corrective tool. Not wearing the brace in the prescribed manner and time is the most common cause of relapse! You must emphasize this point to your parents. The brace must be put on as soon as the last cast is removed! For congenital clubfoot that has been corrected and shows no signs of recurrence, please refer to the following recommendations for a schedule of brace wear. Be sure to check each child’s condition carefully before deciding on the appropriate time to put on the brace.
