Dry eye is simply dry eyes that are not moisturized enough. The main manifestations of dry eyes are dryness, itchiness, eye fatigue, and foreign body sensation, etc. Long-term dry eye can lead to conjunctivitis, eye infections, and even blindness in severe cases. There are many causes of dry eye, but traditionally it is thought to be more common in the elderly, especially in menopausal women. In recent years, with the popularity of computers and cell phones, the incidence of dry eye is increasing among young people. According to Professor Sun Kang, dry eye like Xiao Wang’s is caused by her long-term exposure to computers. In addition, prolonged exposure to air-conditioned rooms and wearing contact lenses for a long time can lead to dry eye. Many people will ask, “Is dry eye serious? Will I go blind? In fact, dry eye is not terrible, it can be prevented and treated. To prevent dry eye, first of all, we should avoid using eyes for a long time, avoid prolonged exposure to computers, cell phones, etc., and blink often; do not blow too long air conditioning; eat a reasonable diet, add more fruits, vegetables, dairy products, fish, etc., drink more water; maintain good habits, etc. Treatment of dry eyes can generally be divided into three parts: First, through artificial tear replacement therapy; whenever the eyes are dry and uncomfortable, you can use drops. The second is to promote tear secretion and stop tear loss; the third is to eradicate the cause of dry eye. In general, dry eyes should not be taken lightly, but you should not carry a lot of baggage, and the vast majority of people will improve significantly after treatment.
