Can you take multivitamins for a long time?



Multivitamins should not be taken for long periods of time.

Multivitamins generally refer to multivitamin tablets, which are used to treat and prevent various metabolic diseases caused by mineral and vitamin deficiencies. However, it is not recommended to take it for a long time, if you take it for a long time it may cause vitamin poisoning, abdominal pain, diarrhea, kidney stones and so on. For patients with chronic renal failure, hyperphosphatemia, hypercalcemia with renal rickets is prohibited.

Taking multivitamins should not be combined with drugs containing large amounts of calcium and magnesium to avoid causing hypercalcemia and hypomagnesemia. In case of overdose or serious adverse reactions, immediate medical attention should be sought.

So multivitamin use is under doctor’s supervision and is not recommended for long-term use.
